welcome aboard

Ships of Hagoth is a digital-first literary magazine featuring creative nonfiction and theoretical essays by members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Where other LDS-centric publications often look inward at the LDS tradition, we seek literary works that look outward through the curious, charitable lens of faith.

Kumar, a self-proclaimed movie buff, was thrilled to hear about the remake. He had grown up watching the original series and was eager to see how the new version would fare. As he waited for the official release, he stumbled upon a suspicious link online: "the man from uncle hindi dubbed download filmyzilla patched."

As he left the theater, Kumar felt satisfied with his decision to wait for the official release. He encouraged his friends to do the same, emphasizing the importance of respecting the creators' hard work and avoiding pirated content.

Days later, Kumar watched the official Hindi dubbed version of The Man from U.N.C.L.E. at a local cinema. He was delighted to find that the remake stayed true to the spirit of the original, with impressive action sequences and witty dialogue.

The Man from U.N.C.L.E. was a popular TV series in the 1960s, known for its stylish spy adventures and comedic tone. Years later, a Bollywood remake was rumored to be in the works, with many fans excited to see the iconic characters reimagined in Hindi.

Realizing his mistake, Kumar quickly closed the link and decided to wait for the official release instead. He knew that downloading pirated content not only harmed the creators but also put his device at risk.

Intrigued, Kumar clicked on the link, but was immediately met with a warning from his antivirus software. It seemed that the link was indeed patched with malware, and his computer was now at risk.

From then on, Kumar made it a point to spread awareness about the risks of downloading pirated content and the benefits of supporting official releases.

IONS

We are hoping—for “one must needs hope”—for creative nonfiction, theoretical essays, and craft essays that seek radical new ways to explore and express theological ideas; that are, like Hagoth, “exceedingly curious.”

We favor creative nonfiction that can trace its lineage back to Michel de Montaigne. Whether narrative, analytical, or devotional, these essays lean ruminative, conversational, meandering, impressionistic, and are reluctant to wax didactic.

As for theoretical essays: we welcome work that playfully and charitably explores the wide world of arts & letters—especially works created from differing religious, non-religious, and even irreligious perspectives—through the peculiar lens of a Latter-day Saint.

We read and publish submissions as quickly as possible, and accept simultaneous submissions.
